WordPress Backup on Dropbox

The new RC1 version of GD Press Tools PRO offers not only a some bugfixes, but most importantly the backup feature now supports Dropbox!

I recently wrote about how I use Dropbox for synchronized storage of  SEO ranking reports and now thanks to Milan’s GD Press Tools PRO I also automate backing up both files and database of my WordPress sites automatically.

In this example I have configured GDPT 4 to backup CleverPlugins.com every two days, and to do a complete dump of both database and all files.

Scheduling backups is easy!

Backups are created locally and when completed are automatically uploaded to my Dropbox account in a seperate folder for each website.

After the file has been stored on my Dropbox account, the file is automatically synchronized to all my computers and devices.

Scheduled backup on Dropbox!

This is both ensures that all my backups have sufficient redundant storages should Dropbox for some very unlikely reason crash or should I need access to the files while I am offline.

For added backup paranoia, I have configured my Dropbox account on my server to be backed up automatically to my Time Capsule as well.

Scheduled backups is just another reason why every serious WordPress administrator should use GD Press Tools PRO 4
